This is a 2020 new robotic dairy unit, with 240 cows and 4 robots, designed by CowPlan. | These are comfortable cows in a 2016 installed 4 milk robot unit.
These use Wilson Agriculture Cowcoon cubicles, with Pasture Mat mattresses, 30mm foam and Poly Pillow brisket barriers. | This unit houses 300 cows and was constructed in 2013. Ivor Davey was heavily involved in the design and installed the C50 post mounted cubicles. | This is a unit for 360 cows, with 6 milk robots. These use the Pasture Mat mattresses, with 30mm foam layer and Cowcoon stalls. | Here you can see the amount of lunging space required to optimised freedom for the cows. These are 18ft (5.5m) double beds with the floor mounted C50 cubicles. Also we installed Pasture Mat mattresses and 20mm foam and plastic pillow brisket barriers. |

This is a 300 cow unit Ivor Davey helped design in 2012. This uses C50 floor mounted cubicles with Pasture Mat mattresses complete with 20mm foam layer. The cows are perfectly positioned with clean and easy to manage beds. This unit is fully tanked. | These are sand beds - with C50 post mounted cow cubicles. | This is a 6 milk robot, free access unit under construction. The building will house over 400 cows including dry cows and calving areas. This is due for complete summer 2015. Ivor Davey has been key to the overall design and layout, and has worked closely with the client, robot manufacturers, construction team and farm consultant. | Installing 6ft (1800mm) of ZigZag rubber at the feed barrier will help to increase feed intake and maximise production. See how well the cows feed on this rubber floor. | If the environment is designed appropriately the cows will prefer to be in the building rather than outside. The consistency of the housing is key to optimising cow welfare. |

This units installed the Cowcoon stalls also. | Ivor Davey (CowPlan) presenting at a RIDBA event in April 2016. Ivor often speaks at seminars on cow housing, building design and milk robots. | These are the 2014 design with the 70mm top and bottom box section. These were installed in a dry cow unit with ZigZag rubber at the feed barrier, and Cowcoon cubicles with Pack Mat mattresses under sand beds. | Ivor Davey works a lot with all the manufacturers of milk robots and helped with this layout and design. This is for 120 cows, and we installed post mounted C50 cubicles with Pasture Mat mattresses and 30mm foam. The whole floor area was covered with ZigZag floor rubber to maximise comfort and welfare. This unit was commissioned in 2014. | This is the second building on this farm with this layout. Each building holds 270 cows and the farm milks just over 1000 cows. Ivor Davey was heavily involved in both of these units and supplied the floor mounted C50 cubicles with Pasture Mat mattresses and foam. This unit has also had time lapse video research showing the high level of cow welfare and comfort offered. |
